EU-India Grid Events

EUIndiaGrid EventsEU-IndiaGrid2 is driving the sustainability of EU-Indian Grid infrastructure by connecting with user communities in both Europe and India. EU-IndiaGrid2 is organising 4 thematic workshops during the lifetime of the project on Climate Change, Biology, High Energy Physics and Material Science; as well as an international conference in 2011 at ICTP, Trieste, Italy. Partners are also actively participating at international conferences presenting updates and achievements on the project.

Description

Building on the success and achievements of the "EU & Asia-Pacific Grid Collaborations and Future Challenges" at OGF24, this dedicated workshop on “International Co-operation for large scale DCI Interoperability” organised by OGF-Europe, aims to gather the series of global, European and Regional initiatives ongoing.Interoperability and interoperation between major European and Asian Grid infrastructures such as EGEE, CNGrid, GARUDA, NAREGI, is a crucial step towards establishing a cross-continent and even global Grid infrastructure.

A series of initiatives such as the ones previously mentioned have helped or will help to pave the way for a global “seamless” integration of different Grid infrastructures. In order to achieve this primary goal, strong efforts are needed bilaterally to evolve towards a common standard.

The stimulating workshop agenda will promote the following objectives:

•International co-ordination & collaboration

•Emphasise the international dimension of research expanding from regional into global co-operation with a focus on interoperability of eInfrastructures

•Discussing bilateral relations & potential future joint collaboration activities

•Further develop a global perspective for e-Infrastructure
