Research into Material Science requires cross-disciplinary research services, computational tools and techniques. EU-IndiaGrid (2010-1012) builds on the successes of EU-IndiaGrid (2007-2009) in establishing and reinforcing relevant EU-Indian collaborations supported by important EU and Indian Institutions. The enlargement of such significant user communities is the key to sustainability as it will serve to motivate scientists to exploit the e-Infrastructures making them central to their research work. EU-IndiaGrid2 will sustain a set of applications strategic for EU-Indian collaboration which can exploit the possibilities offered by network and grid infrastructures.
ICTP, University of Pune, CEA-Grenoble will work together in order to focus on the testing of applications in order to:
- test already developed parallel paradigms on the GRID
- carry out a detailed comparison between EU and Indian GRIDS
- extend material science applications to more complex areas of condensed matter simulation
