EU-IndiaGrid2 successfully established effective collaboration between different teams in Europe and India. These groups now have a more in-dept knowledge of grid infrastructures across Europe and India and can show how the sharing of eInfrastructure can benefit scientific applications.
A list of contact names is provided below. If you are interested in any specific project results or if you would like to contact any of the research teams involved in EUIG2 user communitiies please feel free to contact EUIG2 reference persons.
Climate Change
EU-IndiaGrid2 Climate research activities were mainly conducted in a joint and strict collaboration among ICTP EU-IndiaGrid team and two Indian partners: Computational Atmospheric Science (CAS), Department at IIT Delhi lead by Professor Dash and the CAOS (Centre for Atmospheric& Oceanic Sciences) of Indian Institute of Science leaded by Professor Ravi Nanjundian.
The partnership between IIT-Delhi and ICTP, based on the RegCM simulation package and its configuration for climate studies over the Indian subcontinent enabled by grid infrastructures was the most active.

High Energy Physics
INFN, BARC, TIFR, SINP and VECC were involved from the initial stage for the exploitation of research infrastructures in HEP. The WLCG Tier2 centres in India represented by TIFR for the CMS experiment, SINP and VECC for the ALICE experiment have done well since last several years with reasonably high capacity of internet connectivity. The CMS computing model required connectivity to all the 8 CMS Tier1 centres and with the connectivity offered by NKN and TEIN3 and supported by the EU-IndiaGrid2 project, the centre at TIFR could establish itself well as a reliably functional Tier2 centre.

Biology
The core partnership in Biology in EU-IndiaGrid2 was between Cambridge Systems Biology Centre and the NCBS institute in Bangalore. This collaboration saw the combination of experiments with detailed stochastic simulations. The NCBS Bangalore and Cambridge Systems Biology Centre underpinned a major workshop, with tutorial and coding session in Cambridge in March 2011 with the particular target of development of the simulator tool Smoldyn.

Material Science
The partnership between the University of Pune and the Commissariat pour l’ Energie Atomique - CEA (France) led to significant achievements. At the same time, the collaboration between Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai and CEA in Grenoble represented an excellent showcase for the usage of NKN-TEIN3-GÉANT connectivity for remote control and data collection at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble.
