Hydro-Meteorology Applications Survey – Bridging the gap between the Hydro-Metereology and ICT Communities. Run by the EU Funded project DRIHMS (Distributed Research Infrastructure for Hydro-Meteorology Study), the survey aims to define important topics in Hydro-Meteorology Research (HMR) that can benefit from advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and thus set a joint HMR-ICT research and applications agenda. National Knowledge Network (NKN) to be implemented by the NIC
One of the important recommendations of the National Knowledge Commission (NKC) is to inter-connect all knowledge institutions trough high speed data communication network. This would encourage sharing of knowledge, specialized resources and collaborative research.The Government’s decision to set up such a National Knowledge Network was announced in 2008-09. An initial amount of Rs.100 crore was allocated to the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT for the establishing the NKC. A High Level Committee (HLC) was also set up to coordinate and monitor the establishment of the NKN. ...

The official EU-IndiaGrid launch took place at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, 11 January, 2010. Joining the consortium was Dr R Chidabaram, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, and the EC e-Infrastructure delegation to India led by Kostas Glinos, Head of Unit, European Commission, Information Society and Media Directorate-General, GEANT & e-Infrastructures
EU-IndiaGrid Kick-off Meeting 14 & 15 January 2010
The Project Kick-off meeting will take place at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. The meeting will be a chance for the 15 International partners to plan for the next two years of work to sustain and enable interoperability between Europe and India.
